Privacy Policy

Parallel Reality provides Clarity, an AI shopping assistant for online stores. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use Clarity, visit parallel-reality.com, or talk to a Clarity agent.
Who we are
Parallel Reality, 434 Boulevard Pierre Chavaroche, 83340 Le Luc, France, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, except where we act as a processor for a merchant. Contact us at contact@parallel-reality.com.
If you talk to an agent embedded on a merchant's website, that merchant is responsible for the conversation and its privacy notice. We process the conversation on the merchant's behalf.
What we collect
- Account details: email address, password (stored in hashed form), and login and security events.
- Workspace details: brand name, website, company size, brand description, agent settings, and imported product information. Product catalogs are usually public business information.
- Conversation metadata: a session identifier, the agent and brand involved, the mode (text or voice), and start and end times. We do not store the content of your conversation — messages or voice transcripts — in our database. Voice audio and text are processed in real time to provide the conversation and are not recorded or retained by us after the session.
- Billing details: plan, subscription status, and customer identifiers. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store full card details.
- Support and technical data: messages you send us, IP address, browser information, and server logs.
We do not intentionally collect special-category data. Please do not share health, biometric, political, religious, or other sensitive information with an agent.
How we use data and why
- To provide Clarity: creating your account and workspace, configuring agents, importing products, and running conversations. This is part of our contract with you.
- To measure plan usage and bill you: counting conversations and managing subscriptions. This is part of our contract and may be required by law.
- To process payments: Stripe handles your payment details so we can collect subscription fees.
- To keep the service secure: preventing abuse, debugging errors, and protecting our systems. This is based on our legitimate interests.
- To send service messages: responding to support requests and sending account, trial, usage, and billing notices.
- To comply with the law: keeping records where we are legally required to do so.
We do not send marketing emails without consent where consent is required. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time.
We do not use personal data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Conversations
We store conversation metadata — such as the session identifier, brand and agent, mode, and timestamps — to measure plan usage. The agent uses the conversation context during the session to answer. We do not store the messages or voice transcripts after the session, and we do not use conversation content for advertising.
If we later offer optional transcript storage, we will update this policy before the feature becomes available and provide any required notice or choice.
If you talk to an agent on a merchant's website, the merchant decides the purposes of the conversation. We process it on the merchant's behalf and according to their instructions.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties. We do not share personal data for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We only share data with service providers that help us host and operate Clarity, and with authorities when required by law. Service providers may process data only on our instructions and under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
Service providers and international transfers
We use service providers for hosting, database and authentication, AI processing, real-time communications, email delivery, and payments. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures.
How long we keep data
- Account and workspace data: while your account is active, then up to 30 days after deletion.
- Conversation metadata: for the duration of your account. We may keep aggregated usage counts that do not identify you.
- Conversation messages, transcripts, and audio: not retained after the session.
- Billing and tax records: for the period required by French law.
- Security logs: up to 30 days.
- Support messages: up to 24 months.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except for records we must keep for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your account by emailing contact@parallel-reality.com.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive your data in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email contact@parallel-reality.com. We respond within one month.
You can complain to the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or your local supervisory authority.
Providing personal data is not a legal requirement, but we cannot create your account or provide Clarity without it. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Cookies and local storage
We use only essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember import progress, and store widget preferences. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Because these are necessary to provide Clarity, we do not show a cookie banner. If we add non-essential cookies, we will ask for consent first.
AI
Clarity agents are AI systems, not people. They generate product recommendations and do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Do not share sensitive information with an agent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the date above. If a change is material, we will notify account holders by email or in the workspace.
